Clinton and Sinbad
Hillary Clinton has been using experience to explain why she would be more qualified to be president then Barack Obama. She has a long history of public service including being First Lady. I know being First Lady isn't the same as being president but maybe she deserves half time credit for serving in her husband's administration being that she was a more powerful first lady than most in US history.
In explaining her background she has told stories about her foreign travels. Some of which have been picked apart for the details. In the latest gaffe reporters are researching a trip she took in the 1990's and comparing news reports at the time to what the first lady said recently.
Read the story first to craft your own conclusions about the elements of truth to the story including the reason for the choice of aircraft, reports of threats in the area, etc. But make sure you read the following quote:
According to Sinbad, who provided entertainment on the trip along with the singer Sheryl Crow, the "scariest" part was deciding where to eat. As he told Mary Ann Akers of The Post, "I think the only 'red-phone' moment was: 'Do we eat here or at the next place.'" Sinbad questioned the premise behind the Clinton version of events. "What kind of president would say 'Hey man, I can't go 'cause I might get shot so I'm going to send my wife. Oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you."
When politicians seem to be telling an obvious lie I tend to believe it was either unintentional, them stretching the truth, or there or is an element of truth to it. Kind of like Al Gore and the internet. But whenever Sinbad is quoted during a presidential campaign it always = funny.
Whatever the campaign may bring, please allow reporters to get quotes from comedians when discussing serious issues.
Sinbad discusses vital issues.
Comments
It looks like Sinbad was correct in his threat assessment!
In other news, McCain still does favors for lobbyists.
