I attended the event in Ojai where David Swanson spoke. His made remarks that day from a prepared speech that can be found here:
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/32932
Mary Pallant also spoke during the event. She demonstrated her strong presence and focus on the important issues of the Iraq war, the current administration, and refocusing this nation. I remain quite impressed with Pallant and feel strongly about her ability to defeat Elton Gallegly in November.
Checking around the internet I did find an archive of articles he has written on http://www.alternet.org/authors/2874 The upcoming fundraiser for Pallant should be an event well worth attending.
Jurnei,
Has Mary Pallant expressed who she supports for president? She can't really stay neutral as staying neutral basically means keep the fighting going and might lead to major problems for the party and I don't think she stands for that at all.
FROM MARY PALLANTS WEB SITE AND HEY BRIAN DENNERT, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE SUBMITTED THIS IMPORTANT INFO - MARY, ON HER OWN SITE, AND IN HER OWN HTML META TAGS - IS IDENTIFIED AS A REPUBLICAN!
NO ONE STARTED THIS "RUMOR," BUT SOME ONE GOT THE TRUTH FROM HER OWN WEB SITE -

U.S. Rep. Candidate Mary Pallant, CA24
Tah dow, tah dow, tah dow -
How you feel about Mary Now?
And if you gotta log in and approve posts, how come so many posts after mine got approved, and mine has not showed up to-date? Are you thwarting honest blogging? Hope not. Hope you post this one!
JacksonDude,
I am not in the habit of deleting comments. Comments help drive traffic after all.
There has been technical problems at The Star. Any missing comments are not related to my end of the blog. But I do have to login to approve comments. That makes a delay but it doesn't delete them.
Thanks for reading.
For those of you interested here is a cut and paste of the HTML:

Do you see something different then what I did?
JD is obviously not clear on the fact that Mary's statement indicates that she is running for US Rep - meaning Representative, not Republican, to Congress. If you couldn't figure that out, you probably shouldn't be running your mouth on behalf of your favorite candidate, Jill. You make her and yourself look bad. You should probably apologize to Mary for making the idiotic statement and outright lie.
This is a lot like the outer limits.
"You are not in control of the TV set ......"
I don't understand the point? Mary was a Republican at some point in the past? Is that a bad thing? She is clearly a strong progressive and supports many progressive causes. Se has put together many great events for local Democrats.
I don't know any Democrats that will put their real name on here and say she isn't a strong Democrat. That should say something about her values.
She isn't trying to sneak a conservative agenda into the party. I think her critics and supporters would agree on that position.
Mary Pallant continues to run a spirited and positive campaign dedicated to Democrats everywhere, preferrably those living in the 24th CD or as a like to say the "Lower Interior of the Tri-Counties".
But more important she wants to do right by every Democrat and Republican by:
1) Ending the Iraq Occupation.
Traditional conservatives were never in favor of foreign interventionism and the injudicious use of U.S. forces.
2) Balancing the Budget.
Remember this quaint notion my Republican friends.
3) Creating jobs and Conserving the planet.
What could be more Republican than boosting business and opening up markets in green technology. Wasn't the father of the environmental movement a Republican? Didn't Teddy Roosevelt work to conserve and protect America's valuable resources?
Like Mary say's: "I didn't leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party left me."
Yes - Mary was republican at one time, and her own site is a source of confusion, - it's not a good thing or a bad thing. It just is.
BUT she must feel it misconveyed info, because the page been radically changed. So if all it meant was representative, why didn't she just say so, and leave the page the way it was? She has bitterly accused others of making statements about her true party identity, but her very own web site may have been one of the sources of such information. And this is America, correct? I can speak, and you can walk the other way. And what was reprinted on this page was by someone else - was the static page, not the HTML in the head section of the page (and which no longer exists in the public domain) - which was seen by "view source" with your browser, until Pallant's camp scramble to change the HTML (Hyper Text Mark Up Language) which delivers the page to your screen as you see it.
One more thing, and this is from Internic (US Chamber of Commerce)- not me, to put things into the meta tags which do not appear on the page, is spaming your tags, and the reason BMW got booted off the interet at one point in the history of the WWW. Have a nice and honest day.
It shows that she's politically schizophrenic. Who is she really? Is she Ronald Reagan or is she Hillary Clinton?
JacksonDude,
Do you have proof from a voter registration list?
My friend Brian Mack offered to redo the page to show off his impressive graphic skills, not to hide some secret you have come up with.
When was she a Republican?
You aren't arguing she is the conservative in the campaign are you?
I have come by this discussion several times in looking through this blog. It continues to make me laugh. JacksonDude is obviously from the Martinez campaign and it is just laughable that they are running with such stupidity.
