I don't think Dr. Weis would ever "officially" talk to a reporter - he is too smart of a politicial for that.

I can only speak for myself, but as a Republican it has been really embarrasing to read the paper this week. First it was the article on "murky ballot designations" featuring a Republican Board of Education member thick in the scheme of thing. Then it was tge the attempt by another VCBOE Republican, Chris Valenzano, to hold illegal meetings. And to think, both of these Republicans are representatives on the Central Committee? Chris, his wife and Tony Strickland's mother are going to be my reps on the CC.

Preface that with Tony forming a "Public Safety Committee". Well, I don't feel safe at all if this kind of stuff is allowed. Totten, Brooks, Gorrell, Gillette ought to feel really embarassed right now.

If we aren't safe from Valenzano and phony energy labels, why should I entrust these people to protect me from other criminals.

The reason they are your representatives is they were elected, Katie. If you're so intent upon changing things at the VCRCC, why don't you run for the Central Committee yourself? Otherwise, it just sounds like you're whining, which, of course, you are.

Are you proud of the actions of late by Republicans holding or seeing office?

I don't think the Republican Central Committee should be in charge of the county board of education. That sounds like a small cabal of people are trying to take over.

It is almost too easy to point out but why aren't you running for something Mongo? Are you pleased with every level of government or are you whining?

Not all of us have the time, financial resources, or the ability to run for office. That doesn't mean we are satisfied with the state of our government.

My reps (Valenzano, Valenzao, Stickland) were appointed, not elected. Kunicki was appointed as well but is up for election this go around.

So Mango, getting back to the original question. Are you proud?

I'm proud as can be, Kutie. But, I'll be the proudest when you decide to officially join the Democrat Party, which is where you've been heading for a long time now.

Mongo:

Katie is no Democrat. Her values are true Republican. She's just not
self-serving; she has principles. It's sad to see that the those who profess to be the standard bearers of the Ventura County Republican Party support career politicians and have little or no skills or training outside of their own petty form of local politics. Or must move to extend their "career."

Chuck Weis is a good lookin cat. Check out the photo.

Ha, ha, ha (LMAO)!!!

According to today's STAR, our VCSB president wants to make sure that the next Supt is an untrustworthy, sneaky, weasel. He may also get the VCSB involved in a suit for interfering with an existing contract if the VCSB starts meeting in secret with any candidates trying to get out of their existing employment agreements.

Anyone who needs to negotiate their employment in secret because their boss might find out is beneath contempt, should not be trusted and should automatically be disqualified from the job. Would you trust a Supt of Schools who's first instinct is to lie?

It is my understanding that there are a couple of candidates currently with the VCOE that are totally qualified and can fill in the gap for now. I'm not sure why another $25K of taxpayers money is being spent like water. I think one of the people has the last name of Mantooth. Is he a good candidate?
