Jay Kapitz here. I am Chair of Oak Park Citizens for Excellent Schools - Yes on Measure C Committee. We are a grassroots volunteer group of community members working to support Measure C which renews the existing Oak Park parcel tax with exemptions available for seniors.
Our wine and cheese party is on Sunday, April 27 from 4 - 6 PM and is free. We hope to raise some funds from our silent and live auctions. For more information about Measure C and the party please visit www.OakParkMeasureC.com.
Forty teachers and support personnel in the Oak Park School District have recently received pink slips as a result of the anticipated state budget cuts. Measure C prevents further cuts that would affect the quality of learning, including larger class sizes, the loss of good teachers and additional cuts in reading, math, science and music.
Measure C requires a 2/3 vote for passage. Please help us with this crucial effort.
