Simi Valley Street Fair

| | Comments (16)

The Street Fair is this Saturday. Who's going?

Any word on what candidates will be there?

Here
is my coverage of the event from the past.

Hannah-Beth will be there 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

David Hare will be there.

Do you know if Hannah Beth Jackson or David Hare will have their own booths or be working out of the Democratic Club's booth?

Make sure to thank all the volunteers that get there real early and set up the fair.

HBJ will not have her own booth.

For clarification: She's sitting in the Democrats' booth.

Further clarification Marie - stick with Ventura. HBJ isn't sitting in a booth. She will be on her feet, meeting our residents in Simi Valley and talking about the issues facing our community. "Sitting in a booth" just isn't on her agenda. Perhaps in the slow pace of Ventura politicians can sit. At our end of the County, they are on their feet working.

Sorta cranky this morning, aren't we CAP-812? I meant working out of the booth. The way you worded it earlier, it sounded like she wasn't going to be there.

We work very hard in Ventura, thank you very much.

Working out of a booth and sitting in a booth are not the same. I do tend to be cranky in the morning, but I didn't want to convey that HBJ is one to sit down. Every time I see her, she is on her feet and moving. She isn't one to sit on her accomplishments; she is always working on new projects that are important to the Distict.

It's too bad that HBJ is not having her own booth. It is a better example of reaching across the aisle and reaching moderate Republicans that may not want to stop by a Democrat booth.

I expect she will have her own booth at Simi Valley Days.

Maybe she will also be in the parade.

Ferial Masry was there around 11:30 working from the Simi Moorpark Democratic Club Booth.

I also saw Mary Pallant walking through the crowd. She may have been working from a booth, but I did not see it.

Hannah-Beth was ON HER FEET in the walkway diligently working the public. And her associate/assistant/feeder was very good in collaring passersby and introducing them to Hannah Beth. I was very impressed.

I thought the Street Fair went very well today. Hats off to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make it happen.

Scott,

This blog is about local politics which means I don't normally go into other topics.

But that being said I heard the fair was pretty cool. Thanks to all of the volunteers that help put it together every year.

Especially the Police Foundation that raises money for our community for programs like DARE, K-9 adoption, and others.

After Hannah-Beth and Ferial were done at the Street Fair, they came to the National Women's Political Caucus "Politics, Tea and Thee" event in Ojai. A busy day. Also attending were Jill Martinez, Kathy Long, Fran Pavley and Carole Lutness (running for AD 38). I was also hoping to see Mary Pallant, but she didn't make it.

I've said it before, but this is a really great year for strong female candidates.

Sorry, Brian, I didn't take photos for you this time. I was too busy talking!

David Hare was at the Street Fair for about 3 hours (Brian, I sent you some pictures) and then did several hours of targeted precinct walking in Simi Valley.

Laura,

I posted an entry with the pictures for you.

Earlier you and I were posting comments about the superdelegate process.

I am trying to find a contact list for the DNC members from California and their email addresses. If the process is really democratic and transparent there must be a list that the public can use to push for our candidate.

Do you have a URL?

Marie,

They scheduled a tea party on the kickoff day for Barack Obama's national voter registration drive?

How many people were there?
