Looks like they plan to campaign across the entire district. They are even providing housing!
In the past Tony Strickland has done an impressive job training young people how to work in politics. It doesn't appear this election cycle will be much different in that regard. The pay is listed at $1500 a month.
Will Hannah Beth Jackson also be hiring field workers early? I haven't seen anything about applying for jobs fro her campaign.
The ad says they will be polling. Has anyone heard their poll questions?
Here is the listing:

I would like to apply, Tony. I'm a young male. I don't mind not telling the truth. I will do anything to win. Booze, tobacco and gambling are all great expressions of America's Democracy and I will be proud to whore myself to any of these industries. My Father and three Uncles died of lung cancer, but I blame them, not cigarettes. They should have taken care of their health. Cigarette companies should only take care of their executives and shareholders. I believe in shutting down the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Health. I believe in closing public school and ending Social Security. I support ending Congress and having one master leader of our Country. I dream of having Tony Strickland that leader. I look forward to an interview and that free housing.
You forgot your most obvious trait, you're an idiot.
Sorry for the omission. I failed to notice that one requirement: "Only idiots need apply".
Actually Tony Strickland is advertising on the Larry Craiglist. Tom Vitter, Larry Craig and Tony Strickland were all working for Romney, oh yeah, Romney got his butt kicked by McCain and McCain wants to legalize illegals, the kind Romney had working for him.
Who is providing the free lodging?
Would that be considered an "in kind" donation to the campaign that must be declared?
I didn't think of campaign finance laws. That might be true that allowing the campaign to use a room in your house for workers could be a type of donation. But if the person wasn't renting it or using it at all is is a donation? That doesn't seem fair.
Don't forget years ago the Stricklands moved staffers into hotels in Ventura County so they were "residents" and then ran them for seats on the Republican Central Committee. They ran Tony's mom Toni that year too. "Tony's Team"
Once elected, they hired staffers, paid very well by our tax dollars, then had one live in their house and CHARGED HIM RENT! (So the taxpayer dollars that paid the staffer ended up in the Stricklands pockets!)
Maybe Mike Stoker will open up a room for Strickland staffers in Santa Maria. After all, he wants his old job back - District director - a job he's losing since his boss McClintock has termed out.
I think it is cool that Tony Strickland is giving young people a chance to get paid to get involved. When Democrats want to start winning big locally they will be doing the same thing.
When people start young they stay involved and learn job skills that they can use to help other candidates. The basics of any campaign including FPPC filings, mailing, graphics, sign laws, outreach, GOTV, letter writing campaigns, and other tools of the trade.
Tony Strickland has done a great job of putting young people to work. It would be great improvement if local Democrats also started relying on young people instead of out of the area professionals.
In some ways Democrats should learn from Tony Strickland as he has proven himself a great campaigner.
Hope this comment doesn't surprise too many people as it seems so obvious to me.
