Gerald Ford

The first published editorial cartoon I had (in college) was of Gerald Ford. While I was not a great fan of him as a president, he did restore a sense of normalcy and respect to the office so damaged by his predecessor.

Cost of the war

News reports say that a new Iraq War appropriation before the House will raise the total for the war in Iraq to $400 billion. that number is so large, I wanted to put it into some sort of perspective.

Homelessness walk-by

Unfortunately, the small size of posted images here make some of the lettering hard to read; the lightning bolts read, "Job layoffs", "Pension plan cuts", "Catastrophic illness/injury", "Substance abuse" and "Physical loss of home," all things that, but for the grace of God, might make us switch places with the fellow on the sidewalk.
