Gun violence in America

The Second Amendment is Homeland Security.

We could legislate all of our weapons into the "Corn Field". (Thank you Rod Serling). But, isn't that what Nazi Germany, The Soviet Union, and Mainland China did? What price freedon?

I took this toon to be yet another knee-jerk response to a major news story involving guns and the idea that we need to have either more control or elimination of these weapons. The fact is that there are adequate gun laws on the books that if properly enforced do limit who can legally own a gun. In this case and many, many others is that you have a deranged person that was not identified as a serious threat until it was too late. Those school officials and medical personnel that recognized this person's mental instability were bound by student confidentiality laws that prevented them from doing something as simple as notifying his parents and similarly from entering his name onto a state watchlist that would have prevented him from purchasing a handgun. So if you want to be fair, perhaps you should draw a bunch of lawyers with blood on their hands for handcuffing those professionals that could have made a difference in this trajedy.
