Obama and Wright

Barack Obama's former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, probably negatively impacted Obama's campaign more than anything other than the issue of experience. Not content to leave things alone, Wright went before the Press Club in Washington, made statements about "not being controversial" and kept calling Obama "Barack HUSSEIN Obama" (using his real, Islamic-based middle name)... every time Wright opens his mouth, he probably costs his dear friend 10,000 votes.

Preying on teachers

With the uncertainty over budget cuts to deal with California's multi-billion-dollar deficit, hundreds of thousands of teachers have been given advance layoff notices (the state is required to give such notices to anyone even potentially getting laid off). A news story in the Star reports that other states are using this situation as an opportunity to cherry-pick away nervous teachers for their own school districts.
