It's President's Day -- a holiday for many of you -- but we are here chasing news. Here's a look at some of the stories we have on tap for the day.

We're finishing an interesting piece from Simi Valley on a program called Wide Umbrella which hopes to use foreclosed homes as transitional living for temporary homeless while helping the owners time to regain their homes.

State Sen. Tony Strickland is using President's Day to announce a bill to fund a statute for Ronald Reagan in Sacramento.

And we are continuing to follow the story on the arrest of Jane Laut for the August shooting death of her husband at their Oxnard home. We don't know if there will be any new developments until her arraignment Tuesday, but we have reporters checking on the story.
