What we're working on today (Tuesday, March 23)

We're continuing to follow the weekend shooting death of Norman Schureman at a Westlake Village party. We are trying to find out more background on the suspect, Steven Honma. If you have any information you'd like to share, contact staff writer Adam Foxman at afoxman@vcstar.com.

We'll have an interesting story for tomorrow's paper on a homeowners association in Simi Valley that has been embroiled in several controversies, erupting last week in the election of a new board and charges that the voting was tainted.

And today we're finishing our reporting on a story that trout fishing at some lakes in Ventura County may be a thing of the past (at least for awhile) as stocking of trout is being stopped in the wake of a two-year-old lawsuit over the impact of the stocking program.

so tell us anything additional with regards to the wonderful heron....pat's shots are normally worth a thousand phrases:)

This will be a excellent website, would you be involved in doing an interview about how you created it? If so e-mail me!

Though we need to promote obtaining a higher educational degree to all, as the more educated our citizens are, it benefits everyone from the individual to our country as a whole, we need to promote more degrees in Science, Engineering & MATH or we will fall behind the other countries in our world!
I agree with Andre...why isn't Colorado mentioned as above 40%
Also agree with Larry...Math degrees are extremely important also

Do I get a visit if I didn't fill out all of my form? I fail to see the importance of a lot of your questions, therefore I only answered what I thought you needed. And I WILL NOT give you any more than what I gave you. I know that you do not actually fine people so your scare tactics will have no effect on me.

I love the efforts you have put in this, regards for all the great posts.

Very interesting stats. I follow "ted.com" and learned there that China has more english speaking people than does the United States. The latino population is the fastest increasing in the United States.

I wish I was going again! Have a great time. Iwill be following along on the blog.....

I was quite astonished to be asked if I were African American or Negro. Negro is a term that old white men use. One almost lost his job as a US Senator. What are you people thinking about? Why would a black person willingly respond to what some consider an insult? Ask Harry Reid to help you with the wording.
I overlooked the insult due to the importance of the mission.

hai guy
thanks a lot.
really its very useful to others and me also.

Can imported blank t-shirts that are screened in the US be classified as domestic? The screening does increase and enhance the value of the blank t-shirt. Thanks!

I don't understand your question could you explain more what you mean ?

This may have been the least accurate Census ever! I definitely agree with Michael Bloomberg's disappointment! Only 1,300 more people in Queens for the past 10 years? I can assure you Census Bureau, Michael Bloomberg's dispute for New York City's April 1, 2010 population being 8,175,133 is going to be fierce!

I'd just like to pipe up in favor of the "no comments if the author doesn't want them" side of the discussion. GKP has made it pretty clear that having to leave comments open would immensely discourage him from wanting to post at all. Personally, I'd be far more upset by losing the opportunity to read GKP's excellent posts than by simply not being able to comment on them.

I always was interested in this topic and still am, thanks for posting .

Enjoyed reading this, very good stuff, thanks .

Precisely what I was looking for, appreciate it for putting up.

Gypsylinguist: There is no doubt that there is a new(ish) rule out there in the linguasphere that has simplified the somewhat clumsy English "there is/there are" dichotomy to a simple, blanket "there is" for both singular and plural.

This article is pure genius! Your blog is the first one i bookmarked in a very long time. It seems we think alike, let me know if you want to talk some more on the subject.

Raise your hand if your undergraduate career was never tainted by pretentiousness. Anyone? Anyone?

I applied by October 15th. I applied to the College of Design. I realize that they dont have an early decision part to their application. But if it states that I am under design review right now. Is there any way to find out earlier than March?
