The Democratic Club of Ventura will host a debate on Thursday featuring the two of the three candidates seeking the party's nomination in the county's 24th Congressional District, Tim Allison and Marie Panec.
The club's meeting will begin at 6:30, and the 75-minute debate will start shortly after what is desribed as a "small amount of club business" is dispensed with. The event will take place in the Topping Room at Ventura's Foster Library, 651 W. Main Street. It is free to the public and snacks will be served.
The debate will be moderated by David Maron, a member of the League of Women Voters and a frequent moderator of political forums and debates in the county.

The 2010 midterm elections are usually here, and most expect Republicans to make big gains in together chambers of Congress. While prevailing opinion holds how the GOP will take over the House of Representatives, there are some dissenters among national political figures. The Senate outlook is extremely messy, but it is normally accepted that Republicans experience a steeper climb to take back the upper chamber.
