Vocie of Prophecy coming to Vetura County Philatelic Society

Harold Lyle of the Voice of Prophecy is the scheduled program for the Oct. 2 meeting of the Ventura County Philatelic Society. Harold is in charge of receiving, pricing and selling philatelic and numismatic material donated to The Voice of Prophecy, and he always comes with a wide range of material, ranging from boxes of inexpensive stamps to higher-priced stamps and covers. Almost everyone can find at least one or two items of interest by searching through his boxes, albums, stock books and drawers of material, which he sorts by both country and topic.
The society meets at the Church of the Foothills in Ventura, and the doors usually open by 7:30 p.m.

Why a stamp collecting blog?

For those of you who don't know, I write a monthly stamp column for The Star. It appears on the first Saturday of each month in the Community pages. But there's stamp news much more often than once a month, and I plan to present many items that don't make it in the column here. I also hope that the county's stamp clubs will send me notices of programs and other special events so they can be posted here quickly. I want this blog to be a place that county stamp collectors check regularly, but I'll need the help of all the clubs to do that. If you have questions or information, please send it to me at jweigle@jVenturaCountyStar.com.
